Pennridge downs North Penn in key SOL National football matchup

LANSDALE — Unbeaten Pennridge’s defense did it again in an impressive 20-8 win over host North Penn in a key Suburban One League National Conference matchup Friday night.

That defense, which has allowed only six touchdowns all season, was highlighted by Mar’Quan Walker’s 24-yard interception return for a touchdown in first half.

The Rams, who won for the first time at Crawford Stadium since 2001, improved to 7-0 while the Knights slipped to 4-3.

It was the first meeting between the two since North Penn defeated Pennridge 21-14 in the PIAA District One Class 6A final last November.

*Check back later tonight for much more on this game.

The Rams visit Abington on Oct. 16.

The Knights visit Central Bucks East on Oct. 16.
