Pellegrini rumored to start in Como clash

Injury halted him just when he was at his peak.

With seven goals and four assists, last season seemed to be Lorenzo Pellegrini’s definitive redemption, but then physical problems compromised his presence on the pitch, and Gasperini had to rely on other players.

Now, after several layoffs, the midfielder is ready to return to Roma.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the former captain is ready to start in the next match of the Roman side on Sunday, October 11th at 12:30 PM in Como.

A starting spot at Sinigaglia isn’t out of the question. The number 7 can provide quality in Gasperini’s 3-4-2-1 formation and could be deployed to support the irreplaceable duo of Dybala and Malen.

While Soulé and Mora have been busy with their respective national teams, Pellegrini has had the opportunity to train at Trigoria and has regained his form and fitness.

The chances of him starting aren’t very high, but the midfielder will certainly be able to challenge his teammates: Gasperini’s plan, in fact, is to send him on for an hour.
