Patriots training camp opens Saturday with free fan access | Details

With a little over a month remaining until the return of the NFL season, the Patriots are suiting up.

This weekend, the New England Patriots return to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for training camp, which begins this Saturday, July 25.

“This year marks the 67th annual training camp for the Patriots, including their 23rd consecutive camp at Gillette Stadium,” Patriot Place said in a prepared statement. “The countdown to kickoff for the upcoming NFL season is underway.”

Training camp is free to attend and open to the public, and runs for two weeks, concluding Thursday, Aug. 20.

Here’s what to know if you plan to attend.

Two former Patriots players are set to sign autographs and meet with fans for the first weekend of training camp. Running back James White and tight end Christian Fauria will be at the Fan Walkway in the morning and will be available for signings and photos. Here’s when you can see them:

  • Saturday, July 25: James White, 9:30-11 a.m.
  • Sunday, July 26: Christian Fauria, 9:30-11 a.m.

Video cameras and detachable lens cameras are not allowed for training camp, according to the team. In addition, fans are discouraged form sharing video from practices at training camp online.

“Photographs taken with cell phones and non-detachable lens cameras are welcome, but we ask fans not to shoot or post practice video of any kind,” the team said in a prepared statement.

Parking is available free of charge for training camp, according to Patriot Place.

Gates open each day of camp at 9:15 a.m., and practice is scheduled to follow an hour later at around 10:15 a.m.

Standard security screenings are expected for training camp. Here’s a list of items that are not allowed at entry:

  • Animals, except service animals assisting those with disabilities
  • Any alcoholic beverages
  • Beach balls
  • Bullhorns, air horns and other noise makers
  • Coolers
  • Detachable lens cameras
  • Drones or other forms of remote-controlled aircraft
  • Fireworks or pyrotechnics
  • Flags will be allowed, however those over 2 feet in length will not be allowed
  • Helium balloons
  • Laser pens
  • Non-prescription or illegal drugs
  • Remotely controlled model aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and drones
  • Selfie sticks
  • Tripods
  • Video cameras
  • Weapons of any kind (including knives)
  • Any other item deemed inappropriate by stadium management
