With TreVeyon Henderson expected to miss multiple weeks due to a high ankle sprain, a familiar face has returned to the ground game in Foxborough.

The New England Patriots announced the addition of running back Hassan Haskins to the practice squad on Tuesday along with cornerback D’Shawn Jamison.

Haskins, 26, had worked out and signed at Gillette Stadium ahead of the 2026 preseason opener in August. The 6-foot-2, 228-pound running back went on to be released as a vested veteran at the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline. He spent two weeks on the practice squad and has remained a free agent since then.

Originally entering the NFL in the fourth round of the 2022 draft at No. 131 overall, Haskins made previous stops with the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers. Through 44 career games, the former first-team All-Big Ten selection via the Michigan Wolverines stands with 76 carries for 229 yards, 18 catches for 119 yards, three touchdowns and one start. He has handled 371 snaps on offense, 683 snaps on special teams and now checks in as the third healthy back in the fold behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson and trade acquisition Corey Kiner.

Jamison, 27, joins Al’zillion Hamilton as the second cornerback on the New England’s practice squad midway through October after the promotion of veteran Kindle Vildor. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Texas Longhorns product went undrafted in 2023 and made his initial NFL stops with the San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent the first month of the 2026 regular season on the practice squad of the Arizona Cardinals.

Notching 10 tackles and one pass deflection, Jamison has appeared in 18 games while seeing 107 snaps on defense and 166 snaps on special teams. The corner’s career includes one start as well as three kickoff returns.

The Patriots released outside linebacker Jose Ramirez to make room among the 17-man group.

Ramirez, 27, had re-signed to New England’s practice squad last week after going through the wire unclaimed. The 6-foot-2, 252-pound edge rusher first arrived as the calendar turned to September and was promoted to the 53-man roster three weeks later. He recorded one solo tackle across 30 snaps between defense and special teams across two games before being waived.

Entering the NFL in the sixth round of the 2023 draft at No. 196 overall, Ramirez made four appearances while a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former MAC Defensive Player of the Year out of Arizona, Riverside City College and Eastern Michigan spent last year with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats on the way to reaching a futures agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Head coach Mike Vrabel’s 3-2 club moves forward with an open spot on the active roster and a full practice squad.

The New York Jets visit Gillette Stadium on Sunday. The AFC East kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
