Patriots captain was 'irritated' by Tom Brady's Super Bowl comment
New England Patriots linebacker Robert Spillane had strong feelings on Tom Brady’s pre-Super Bowl LX comments.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion infamously responded that he didn’t “have a dog in the fight” when talking about the game. That comment obviously irked some longtime fans, as well as current and past players.
Patriots legend Vince Wilfork called Brady’s response “bullcrap,” and Spillane clearly took issue with the comment as well.
“It irritated me, and it made me feel sad for him”, Spillane said on The Greg Hill Show. “Spending 20 years here, obviously, went on to do amazing, great things not only on the football field but in the community, and to say that he had no care in the world, it irritated me. It made me feel sad for him, but at the end of the day, that was just my personal opinion. Everyone else has their own opinions in the locker room.”
“It IRRITATED me” Patriots LB Robert Spillane joins live! What did Spillane make of Tom Brady saying, “I don’t have a dog in the fight”?

If nothing else, Spillane has responded passionately and defended the team.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise from a team captain who has truly embraced playing for the Patriots and being a representative for the New England region.
As for Brady, the Patriots erected a statue of him at Gillette Stadium in his honor. Nobody can ever take away the six Super Bowls and what Brady and the Patriots accomplished together. With Brady now a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and Mike Vrabel leading the new-look Patriots, it is clear that both sides have moved on.
