Patricio Pitbull seeking Jean Silva spectacle

Patricio Pitbull scored his second UFC win and arguably his biggest on Saturday night.

After a rocky 1-2 start with the promotion, the Brazilian rolled back the years with a first-round knockout over Doo Ho Choi, which sees him take a closer step toward the rankings. Knowing he is in the latter stages of his career, the Brazilian isn’t resting on the win. Following the impressive display, Pitbull set his sights on fellow countryman, Jean Silva. The Fighting Nerds product has won all but one of his eight UFC outings, placing him comfortably at in the featherweight division. Logically, it is hard to make a case for why this fight should be next, but crazier things have happened.

Approaching his 40th birthday, Patricio Pitbull has a small window of opportunity to force his way into the UFC title picture. Lobbying for a Jean Silva matchup, Pitbull stated why it would be a good fight to make.

“I think the styles combine, and we can do a great match,” Pitbull said. “I think it can be a war, or it can be easy for me or for him.”

Pitbull continued.

“I don’t know [if he’ll take the fight]. He’s in a great position now, and I think he’s avoiding me. But I have a name. I did a great performance last Saturday, and I am saying his name. Let’s see.”

Unimpressed by his last performance, Patricio Pitbull sees holes in Jean Silva’s game that he believes can be exposed.

“He was like froze for three minutes, and the guy was almost knocking him out,” Pitbull added. “So, if it was me, he was done. So, I believe I can beat him. That’s why I challenged him… [I’ve got] no injuries. If the UFC call me, I can fight next week.”
