Pastor Adeboye clears air on carrying placard against ex-President Jonathan
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has finally broken his silence on reports that he carried a placard in protest against former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Adeboye, who spoke during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, stated that he never led or participated in any protest against Jonathan’s administration.
He said what many mistook for a protest against Jonathan was actually a prayer walk and march organized to demand an end to corruption in Nigeria, and not to discredit Jonathan as President.
He explained that as a man of God, he is always concerned about the state of the nation and will not hesitate to join any peaceful move that seeks to promote righteousness and good governance.
“I did not carry any placard against Jonathan. What we did was a march against corruption.
“I have never protested against any government. My own is to pray for those in authority,” Adeboye clarified.
