Panthers place another player on IR, designate 3 others to return

Yet another Carolina Panther has hit the shelf.

As announced on Tuesday morning, the Panthers have placed defensive tackle Cam Jackson on injured reserve. the second-year lineman has been dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of the team’s Week 4 win over the Detroit Lions.

But on the bright side, three players have been designated to return from their respective setbacks—running back Trevor Etienne (ankle), offensive tackle Taylor Moton (blood clot) and defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton (neck).

Head coach Dave Canales told reporters on Monday that he expects Etienne to be back on the active roster for the upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Moton and Wharton, meanwhile, may need to use a bit more of their 21-day practice windows.

“We’ll open up Turk and T-Mo’s window this week, for sure,” Canales stated yesterday afternoon. “How we do that, how they respond to the work—we’ll give all that information later.”

The Panthers, coming off their bye week, are slated to practice today.
