Padres pitcher suddenly leaves rehab start with apparent injury
Nick Pivetta’s rehab start with the San Diego Padres’ Class-A affiliate did not go according to plan Aug. 4.
Pivetta left the mound in Lake Elsinore, California with an apparent injury, then walked straight to the dugout in the middle of the fourth inning.
Pivetta, 33, has made only four starts in his 10th MLB season because of inflammation in his right elbow. MLB.com reported on Sunday Aug. 2 that Joe Musgrove was scheduled to piggyback Pivetta in relief.
