Oyo fire agency rescues 75-year-old man from well

A 75-year-old man in Saki in Oyo State has been rescued from a well.

DAILY POST reports that the man whose name has not been revealed was rescued by men of the Oyo State Fire Service on Monday evening.

He has been handed over to men of Nigeria Police Force, Saki Divisional Headquarters. 

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident.

Akinwande in a statement made available to DAILY POST Tuesday evening said, “Upon arrival, it was  a man of about 75 years trapped in a well when he wanted to recover a fetcher from the water well.

“The victim was rescue alive and handed over to a team of policemen from Saki Divisional Headquarters led by ASP Yusuf Olarinoye”. 

DAILY POST gathered that properties worth millions of naira were also affected when fire ravaged some flats at Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo Barracks, Ojoo in Ibadan.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. 

Akinwande also confirmed the incident. 

He said that men of the agency launched a coordinated operation to contain the fire from spreading further.
