Oyo APC clears five, disqualifies five senatorial aspirants

The committee supervising the All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries in Oyo State has cleared five aspirants to participate in the senatorial contests ahead of the forthcoming elections.

According to a list circulating online, those cleared include the lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Remi Oseni; the senator representing Oyo Central, Yunus Akintunde; alongside Gbenga Adegbola, Adeolu Akande and Hannah Ogunesan.

The document further revealed that seven aspirants were disqualified from the race.

Among those reportedly not cleared are Wasiu Ajimobi and Kolapo Kola-Daisi, who is related by marriage to the late former Governor of Oyo State.

Earlier, the Chairman of the APC Primaries Committee in Oyo State, Mojeed Alabi, confirmed during a press briefing that while some aspirants were approved to contest, others were disqualified.

However, Alabi did not disclose the names of the affected aspirants at the time.
