Oyo Abduction: Address underlying socio-economic problems igniting insecurity – NACOMYO to FG

He saluted the courage of security agencies and other stakeholders for the safe return of the victims and tasked the governments at all levels to create employment opportunities for young people, improve access to quality education, reduce poverty, and strengthen community development initiatives. 

He added that sustainable peace can only be achieved when justice, opportunity, and good governance are accessible to all and sundry. 

Afolabi said, “The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), Oyo State Chapter, extends its warmest congratulations and profound appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, as demonstrated by the successful rescue of the pupils, students, teachers, and other victims who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

“The news of their freedom has brought immense relief and joy to parents, guardians, school proprietors, teachers, religious leaders, and millions of Nigerians who remained deeply concerned throughout the period of their captivity. We join the nation in giving thanks to Almighty Allah (SWT), whose infinite mercy made this successful rescue possible.

“We also appreciate the Government of Oyo State for maintaining close collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies throughout the rescue efforts. Security remains a collective responsibility, and such cooperation between all tiers of government is essential in addressing the security challenges confronting our nation.

“We equally call upon governments at all levels to address the underlying socio-economic factors that contribute to insecurity by creating employment opportunities for young people, improving access to quality education, reducing poverty, and strengthening community development initiatives.
