Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is hoping for a second successful season at Celtic after signing a new one-year contract with the Scottish Premiership champions on Saturday.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Celtic in February on a short-term deal with the option of a further year, with that clause activated to keep him in Glasgow for another 12 months.

The 32-year-old made 12 appearances in all competitions under Martin O’Neill in 2025-26, starting five of those matches, while also scoring two goals.

He won the top-flight title as well as the Scottish Cup during his first season at the club, and he is hoping to lift more silverware next year.

“I’m delighted to be staying at Celtic for another year,” Oxlade-Chamberlain told the club’s official website.

“It was an incredible time last season and to be part of that success in winning the league and Scottish Cup was so special.

“I’m really excited to be back, and I’m looking forward to meeting up with the boys and getting to work ahead of what will hopefully be another successful season.”

It had been reported that Oxlade-Chamberlain was of interest to teams in the MLS and Europe, but instead will link up with the Celtic squad for their pre-season training camp.

Celtic have yet to make any new signings this summer, but are reportedly interested in Qarabag striker Camilo Duran and Dinko Horkas, the Las Palmas goalkeeper.

There has been no update on the future of Kelechi Iheanacho, whose contract at Celtic expired at the end of last season, with Bursaspor reportedly exploring a transfer.

Celtic did have an option to extend the attacker’s deal by one year. However, this has not been taken up.
