Osun NSCDC gets new Commandant, Toma Enya

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed Commandant Toma Matthew Enya as the new Commandant of its Osun State Command.

According to a statement issued by Adeleke Kehinde, the Public Relations Officer, Osun Command, Enya officially assumed office on Monday, following his redeployment from the Ekiti State Command.

The statement said, “His deployment was approved by the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, as part of changes within the Corps.

“He took over from Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo during a handing-over ceremony held at the Osun State Command Headquarters.”

Shortly after the ceremony, Sotiyo led Enya to the Governor’s Office in Abere, where the new commandant paid a courtesy visit to the Osun State Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi.

Adewusi received Enya on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke and assured the NSCDC of the governor’s support, saying the government would provide the necessary assistance to enable the Corps discharge its statutory responsibilities.

He said the support would also enable the NSCDC to contribute meaningfully to the security and development of Osun State.

Speaking during the visit, Enya pledged to strengthen intelligence gathering and information sharing under his leadership.

The new commandant also assured the state government that the NSCDC would remain committed to protecting lives and property across Osun State.

He said, “Under my leadership, intelligence gathering and sharing would be further strengthened. I am reiterating the Command’s commitment to its security responsibilities.”

Enya, who becomes the 18th State Commandant of the NSCDC in Osun, hails from Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as well as a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
