Osun 2026: APC petitions EFCC, ICPC over alleged vote buying with state funds

· · 1 min read

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, to probe alleged use of state resources for vote buying ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The APC made the call in a statement by its Media Committee Chairman, Remi Omowaye, on Wednesday.

It alleged that the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke is using public funds to influence voters.

The APC also accused the state government of having begun a widespread vote-buying scheme by requesting residents to submit their bank account details to receive a N20,000 payment.

According to the party, the funds were being paid directly into the accounts of workers and residents.

It further alleged that the move was aimed at gaining political advantage ahead of the election.

“It is deeply disheartening that the Osun State Government has officially commenced a widespread vote-buying scheme.

“The administration is systematically requesting citizens to submit their bank account details to receive a political inducement of N20,000,” the APC said.
