Ornstein hints Manchester United could sign underrated Premier League gem
Manchester United are still scouring the market for a new left-back and one intriguing option to watch out for could be Bournemouth’s Adrien Truffert.
The 24-year-old has emerged as one of a number of impressive performers in this Bournemouth side in recent times, and seems likely to earn himself a big move before long.
While there is not yet a concrete link with Man Utd, David Ornstein has hinted that it could be a potential transfer that makes sense.
Responding to several questions from fans in a Q&A with the Athletic, Ornstein discussed players who could be leaving Bournemouth and dropped an intriguing hint about Truffert.

Could Manchester United make a move for Adrien Truffert?
“I don’t think Bournemouth are looking to shift any of their players this season, but next season’s a different matter,” Ornstein said.
“So there could be really interesting situations around Junior Kroupi, around Rayan, around Scott, and around one that I don’t think anyone has really mentioned yet: Adrien Truffert.
“Not many clubs recruited in that left-back position, which means there’s going to be a need on the horizon. Truffert has a really good age profile (he’s 25 in November). He’s the sort of player that you could see moving.
“Manchester United were one team that we talked about with left-backs over the window, and there will be more.
“It is going to be an interesting one. I’m hearing a value of around £60million ($81m) and that there’s potentially a deal to be done next summer. I could see him being capable of playing for one of the biggest clubs.”
United surely need an upgrade on Luke Shaw as soon as possible, and Truffert seems ideal as an option alongside other targets such as Newcastle’s Lewis Hall.
