JPJ left practice last Monday, causing him to miss the team’s joint practice in Houston as well as the second preseason game. In his absence, second-year Caleb Rogers took first team reps at right guard and started the game along with the rest of the second team offensive line.

Not at Raiders practice were former starting WR Dont’e Thornton as well as TE Carter Runyon.

Thornton has been missing from practice for the past couple weeks and has yet to play this preseason. Following the preseason opener, head coach Klint Kubiak said he expected Thornton to play this preseason. At this rate that seems unlikely considering there are just two practices remaining before they face the 49ers on Thursday in their third and final preseason matchup.

Thornton was battling for a spot on the depth chart, but right now he sits squarely on the roster bubble, only clinging to it due to overall lack of depth and talent at the position.
