Odell Beckham Jr. is pulling out all the stops for his return to the NFL with the New York Giants by changing up his look before the NFL Week 1 clash against the Dallas Cowboys.

Beckham Jr.’s career was fundamentally altered while wearing a Giants jersey against the Cowboys in 2014, when he executed the infamous one-handed catch that defines his career to this day.

After watching his prime come and go in the blink of an eye, OBJ is hoping to recreate the success of his prime after earning his way back to the Giants with another throwback move before his re-debut.

After signing on a non-guaranteed deal and earning his way onto the Giants’ final squad for the season, Beckham Jr. has revealed that he will be going back to his iconic blonde hair for their Week 1 clash against the Cowboys.

“I kind of got a request from a couple of the young guys, like, ‘We need to see the blond. I need that as a core memory.’ It’s always fun to switch it up. I can have black hair forever. I can’t fry this forever, and it might grow back. Now was the time.”

OBJ kept short black hair throughout training camp to reaffirm his sincerity to earning his spot on the Giants roster instead of being handed it for his profile or his name.

With the Giants having four receivers on the roster, Beckham Jr. is widely expected to play a few snaps of football to prove whether he is going to be fighting for a WR3 or 4 role or actually be a core member of the team for the upcoming season.

Fans aren’t thrilled with Odell Beckham Jr. going for ‘nostalgia bait’

Fans were not impressed with this news, with it clearly showing OBJ’s focus is veering back to the media and his portrayal as a personality instead of what he can achieve on the field.

“Lmao nostalgia gimmick to pull fans in is comedy,” said one fan.

“This is actually kinda hard. I’m falling for the nostalgia bait,” said one fan on the other end of this argument.

“Dude getting 1 reception for 8 yards tomorrow,” mocked a fan.

“He won’t get more than 10 snaps, and be lucky to get a reception. Other than boos from the Dallas fans,” opined another fan.

“Even if he sucks, I enjoy the showmanship here,” said a fan who found a way to defend OBJ’s actions despite his low personal estimation of the 33-year-old.
