Obi, Kwankwaso Take NDC Mobilisation To Lagos, Visit Markets
The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, are in Lagos for a town hall meeting and engagements with stakeholders as the party intensifies its mobilisation.
Ahead of the engagements, Kwankwaso visited the popular Kantangua Market in Alimosho, where he interacted with traders and mobilisation groups.
He also visited areas affected by local market controversies as part of the party’s outreach to grassroots supporters.
A viral video from the visit showed a large crowd gathering around the NDC vice-presidential candidate, chanting “Obi! Kwankwaso!”
The Lagos engagements come days after a security scare in Calabar, Cross River State, where Obi’s convoy was reportedly attacked during the party’s town hall meeting.
Obi had condemned the incident, which occurred around Murtala Muhammed Highway, near the U.J. Esuene Stadium and Metropolitan Hotel, where the NDC gathering was taking place.
Despite the incident, the party has continued its political engagements and mobilisation activities, maintaining that its efforts would not be stopped.
Before the Lagos visit, Obi was also in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he paid his respects to his late friend, Chief Okey Ezeibe, at his Service of Songs at Trade fare Market in Lagos.
He was accompanied to the event by the NDC governorship candidate in Lagos State, Funso Doherty.
