NY Mets announce lineup vs San Diego Padres for Tuesday’s game
NEW YORK — The Mets are looking to notch a second straight series win and a fifth consecutive win on Tuesday night.
That chance will come in the second game of the series against the Padres at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday at Citi Field.
The Mets are coming off a 2-1 victory over the Padres on Monday, with Bo Bichette and Luis Robert Jr. driving in runs.
With help from two outfield assists from Carson Benge and another from A.J. Ewing, Nolan McLean notched a quality start and the victory on Monday.
Zac Thornton will be making his ninth start of his career on Tuesday.
The Mets rookie left-hander is 3-3 with a 2.78 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. Last time out against the Braves, Thornton allowed three earned runs on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts.
Robbie Ray will be making his third start for the Padres since being acquired from the Giants at the trade deadline.
The veteran left-hander is 10-7 with a 3.28 ERA and 1.33 WHIP through 24 appearances. Ray has allowed six combined runs in nine innings across two starts since joining the Padres.
