NPFL: Rivers United, Rangers set for blockbuster clash in Port Harcourt

Rivers United and Rangers will clash in a top-of-the-table contest at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday, DAILY POST reports.

The two clubs, who would be hoping to have a say in the title race are levelled on 17 points but separated by goal difference.

Rivers United suffered defeat for the first time last season, going down 2-1 to Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

‎On the other hand, the Flying Antelopes will shift their focus to their title defence after being dumped out of the CAF Champions League by Algerian side, MC Alger.

Rivers United have the edge going into the matchday 11 fixture as they have won all previous 10 meetings in Port Harcourt since their name change from Dolphins FC.

The last time Rangers won in Port Harcourt was in 2003 when they defeated the Pride of Rivers 1-0.
