NPFL: Omaka leaves Rivers United after contract expiration

Midfielder Omaka Anthony has left Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side, Rivers United, after seeing out his contract with the club.

Anthony parted ways with the Pride of Rivers after one season in Port Harcourt.

The midfielder had a short spell with Benin Republic side ASVO FC. His return to NPFL with Rivers United proved to be a career highlight.

Anthony contributed to the club’s successful qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage last season.

His performances in continental competition underlined his value to the team.

He is now set to explore new opportunities as he seeks the next chapter in his career.
