NPFL: Bendel Insurance name Obasogie new captain

Bendel Insurance have named Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie their new captain, DAILY POST reports.

Reliable striker Kayode Oke will serve as the team’s vice-captain, according to the club.

Obasogie returned to Bendel Insurance for a second stint last month.

The 26-year-old previously played for Tanzanian side Singinda Black Stars.

The shot stopper made 33 league appearances for Insurance in the 2023/24 season.

Obasogie left the Benin Arsenals for Ethiopian club Fasil Kenema at the end of that campaign.

The former President Federation Cup champions will be banking on his leadership and experience to guide the team in the 2026/27 season.

Kennedy Boboye’s side have recorded one win and one defeat from their opening two games.
