NPA announces arrival of 43 cargo ships in Lagos ports

The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has disclosed that no fewer than 43 vessels carrying petroleum products, food supplies and other cargoes are scheduled to arrive at the Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tincan Island Port in Lagos.

According to the NPA’s Daily Shipping Position released on Tuesday, the vessels are expected to berth at the ports between May 26 and June 6.

The authority explained that eight of the incoming ships are laden with containers conveying various categories of goods, while the remaining 35 vessels are expected with cargoes including fresh fish, petrol, general cargo, bulk wheat, aviation fuel, diesel and gasoline, among others.

The NPA further stated that 11 vessels and tankers had already arrived at the three ports and were awaiting berthing approval. The ships are carrying containers, gasoline, bulk fertiliser, petrol, crude oil, diesel, condensate and bulk salt.

It also revealed that 21 vessels are currently discharging different consignments at the ports, including bulk urea, containers, petrol, trucks, bulk sugar, wheat, millet and bulk gypsum.
