The Greater Cincinnati high school football season will already be halfway through once Week 5 games are in the books. Northern Kentucky and Indiana have already seen teams separate as true state title contenders, but there are still talented teams looking to pull upsets and turn their seasons around.

Beechwood and Covington Catholic are set to clash in a matchup of two of the Bluegrass’s best squads. The Tigers, led once again by Noel Rash, have obliterated each of their first three opponents. The Colonels have looked equally dominant against Kentucky teams, but suffered a tough defeat against Elder in Week 2. This matchup will be a good measuring stick for both programs to assess their title readiness.

Lloyd Memorial is hoping to keep its undefeated streak alive against Campbell County. The Juggernauts completed a perfect regular season in 2025 and are 4-0 to start the current season thanks to an elite rushing attack. The Camels are fresh off losses to Highlands and Cooper, but a win against Lloyd Memorial would change the trajectory of their season overnight.

Dayton and Holy Cross can continue strong starts to the year with wins tonight. Dayton can achieve its first 5-0 start since 2020 with a win over Western Hills. Holy Cross is going for its second straight 5-0 start as they travel to face Eminence.
