Nomads bow out of Europe despite late fightback

Connah’s Quay Nomads bowed out of the Uefa Conference League despite a stirring second-half fightback at FC Ballakani.

The sides drew 0-0 in the first leg of the first qualifying round tie in Colwyn Bay but the Kosovan side went in front after 20 minutes on home soil through Edvin Kuc.

Second half goals by Giovanni and Valentin Serebe put the hosts firmly in control at Fadil Vokrri Stadium.

Substitute Max Woodcock provided home when he pulled a goal back from the penalty spot after he had been fouled by Abou Dossi.

Fellow substitute Hussein Mehasseb scored a well-taken goal with 14 minutes remaining to make it 3-2 but John Disney’s side could not find an equaliser to take the game to extra time.
