“No more fights” – Bruno Guimaraes reveals hilarious message from Arsenal star after completing move
Arsenal’s new signing Bruno Guimaraes has revealed he got a message from Declan Rice about joining the Gunners so they could stop their fights!
It’s fair to say these two clashed a little on the pitch at times when facing each other as opponents, with Guimaraes always known to put in some battling displays for former club Newcastle.
The Brazil international has now been officially confirmed by Arsenal, however, and it seems he’s delighted to be lining up alongside Rice in the Gunners’ midfield.
Speaking to Arsenal.com as he was officially announced, Guimaraes made it clear that he was pleased to hear from Rice and he’s a big fan of the other midfielders in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Bruno Guimaraes on Declan Rice message
“I’m very excited. I’m at the point of my life where I need a challenge like this. I want to win trophies, I want to make history and I think I’m in the right place to do it. I’m so excited to start,” the 28-year-old told the club’s official site.
“Rice sent me a message: ‘Come here and please no more fights, now we’re friends!’ I was happy he messaged me,” he added.
“In my point of view, [the Arsenal midfield] is one of the best in Europe. Everyone is an amazing player.

“Every time when I play against [Arsenal] it was very tough. They keep the ball, they defend like one. I think that combination is the way I like to play as well, and of course, joining the winners of the league is always a big opportunity.”
Arsenal have added a warrior in Bruno Guimaraes
Arsenal fans will be delighted with this signing, with Guimaraes long looking like one of the best players in the Premier League in his position.
Alongside Rice and Martin Zubimendi, the former Lyon man can surely take his game to a whole other level and contribute to more success for Arteta’s side.
Addressing Arsenal’s fans, Guimaraes added that he can promise to be a warrior for this team.
“I can pass the ball, run a lot and play like a warrior, I’ll never give up. I will try to help the team, [I’m] good with the ball, composed, very calm, and sometimes I can score some goals and hope to make everyone very, very happy here,” he said.
Arsenal have also signed Christos Tzolis and Illan Meslier this summer, while Piero Hincapie’s loan from Bayer Leverkusen has been made permanent.
