Tambuwal said his decision was aimed at promoting younger candidates and not due to any cracks within the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

He disclosed this on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ on Friday.

The lawmaker had withdrawn from the senatorial race, and in his place, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Faruk Yabo, was endorsed as the consensus candidate of the ADC.

DAILY POST recalls that Tambuwal was a presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 general elections but stepped down for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Speaking on his withdrawal, Tambuwal said: “I would participate in the campaigns in the state. I would organize elections in the state and, as leader of the party in the state, we will conduct rigorous campaigns to convince people to vote for the ADC.

“There isn’t any issue; there are no cracks in the ADC. My desire is to continue to promote younger people and enhance leadership recruitment.”
