‘Nigerians will put knife in your neck’ – VeryDarkMan reveals Burna Boy’s warning

Social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has disclosed that singer Burna Boy warned him that Nigerians he is fighting for could eventually turn against him and “put a knife” in his neck.

VeryDarkMan made the disclosure while speaking about his activism and the pressure that comes with publicly standing up for Nigerians.

According to him, Burna Boy told him he had experienced similar treatment and warned him that fighting for Nigerians could become exhausting.

“These people, they will put a knife in your neck. Fighting for Nigerians is tiring,” VeryDarkMan quoted Burna Boy as saying.

VeryDarkMan said Burna Boy also prayed for him after seeing the backlash he was facing, telling him that Nigerians had already treated him badly despite his efforts and achievements.

“Make Burna look me talk say, my guy, na pray I dey pray for you, make you know say them don show am pepper,” VeryDarkMan said.

He then recalled the backlash Burna Boy faced in the UK after an incident at one of his shows, claiming that some Nigerians joined calls to cancel the singer despite previously taking pride in his international recognition.

VeryDarkMan said Burna Boy’s experience was similar to what he was now facing, adding that the singer had warned him about the risks of fighting for Nigerians.
