NFL's 10 highest-paid running backs after Jonathan Taylor extension

· · 1 min read

The Indianapolis Colts continued their offseason spending spree Thursday by signing running back Jonathan Taylor to a two-year, $44 million contract extension with $39 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Stephen Holder. This move comes after Indy locked up quarterback Daniel Jones ($88 million over two years) and wide receiver Alec Pierce ($114 million over four years) on high-price deals.

It’s been a good time to be a running back. Bijan Robinson, Breece Hall and De’Von Achane all signed massive contract extensions with their respective teams, plus Arizona Cardinals first-round pick Jeremiyah Love signed a historic four-year deal worth a fully-guaranteed $53 million.

Taylor has been one of the NFL’s most productive and versatile backs despite the passing game being inconsistent during his time in Indy. Over the last two seasons, he’s tallied 3,530 yards from scrimmage along with 32 rushing and receiving touchdowns. Taylor is only 27 and the Colts are hoping his best days are still ahead.

With Taylor the latest to get the bag, here’s a look at the NFL’s 10 highest-paid running backs in terms of guaranteed money.
