Nebraska's Jordy Frahm joins softball team coaching staff as assistant

<p><a href="https://cornhuskerswire.usatoday.com/search/?q=Jordy+frahm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Jordy Frahm&#8217;s</a> collegiate career ended at the <a href="https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/softball/d1/2026/wcws" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Women&#8217;s College World Series</a>, but her time with the Huskers continues. <a href="https://huskers.com/news/2026/06/5/frahm-joins-husker-coaching-staff" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Nebraska announced on Friday</a> that Frahm is joining the coaching staff.</p>
<p>The announcement comes days after associate head coach and pitching coach <a href="https://huskers.com/sports/softball/roster/player/lori-sippel" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Lori Sippel</a> announced <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/nebraska-softball-pitching-coach-lori-090755692.html">her retirement</a>. Frahm is being named assistant coach for the Huskers following a stellar college career.</p>
<p>The Papillion, Nebraska, native initially began her collegiate career at Oklahoma, where she guided the Sooners to back-to-back national championships. Frahm returned home to join Nebraska in 2024 but suffered a season-ending injury at the beginning of that season. She, however, took off for the Huskers upon recovering.</p>
<p>In her two complete seasons with Nebraska, Frahm dominated as a two-way player, compiling a 47-14 pitching record, 43 home runs and 157 total hits. She also became the first player in collegiate history to rack up two 20-20 seasons, hitting 20 home runs and earning 20 wins in each of her final two seasons.</p>
<p>Frahm led Nebraska to the 2026 NCAA Women&#8217;s College World Series, their first appearance since 2013 and helped the team win its first WCWS game since 2002. She also guided the Huskers to a Big Ten regular-season and conference tournament titles.</p>
<p>In her entire career, she totaled 171 hits and a record of 91-17. Frahm also collected numerous accolades in her career, including four First-Team All-Americans, two NFCA Player of the Year awards, two Big Ten Pitcher of the Year awards, a Big Ten Player of the Year award, a Gold Glove Award, and a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.</p>
