Nebraska center Justin Evans receives a unique honor
Nebraska football center Justin Evans earned a single-digit jersey as voted on by his teammates. This was reported by multiple media outlets over the course of the week.
Evans cannot wear the jersey during a game due to rules for linemen. However, the honor is certainly notable for an offensive lineman who looks to be a fixture on the line this season.
The New Jersey native has been with the program for quite a while and has seen the team undergo everything from leadership changes to the transfer portal era. Evans came into the Nebraska program in 2023 and has been a mainstay on the line since. He has played in 38 total games, making 31 starts.
Now, he is receiving the ultimate recognition from his teammates. He may be important to the Huskers on the field, but this shows his value off it as well.
