Nathaniel Brown fully focused on World Cup with Germany amid Bayern Munich links

Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown has been heavily linked with a potential summer move to Bayern Munich as the German Rekordmeister look to bring in reinforcements during the summer window. Discussions between the defender and Bayern have reportedly already taken place and have progressed to the point where there’s already a verbal agreement in place, though Bayern and Frankfurt are still abiut 10 million euros away in their valuations of the player. He’s seen as a top prospect for Vincent Kompany due to his versatility to play on either side in defense and involve himself in the attacking end of the pitch especially with the uncertainty that surrounded Alphonso Davies’ health a left back for the majority of the 2025/26 season.

From Germany’s training camp in Chicago ahead of the World Cup kicking off, Brown was asked about the heavy interest from Bayern, but the defender stressed that he’s not thinking about that right now. For the time being, he is 100% focused on the German national team and the World Cup.

“I’m fully focused on the World Cup, therefore I won’t be commenting on that today. I’m happy to be here and my full focus is on the World Cup,” Brown told Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) when he was asked about the supposed verbal agreement he already has in place with Bayern. “As I said, now it’s all about the World Cup. That’s what I’m thinking of right now,” he continued when he was asked whether or not he would like to have his future sorted before the start of the World Cup.

As things stand, the verbal agreement with Bayern does appear to be in place, but Brown’s current contract with Frankfurt runs through June 2030 with no release clause and he’s currently valuated at 40 million euros. Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche has confirmed that the club would be looking for upwards of 60 million euros from Bayern to be willing to sell him with nearly four years left on his current contract, but it’s that fee that Bayern are trying to negotiate down. Those efforts will be spearheaded by sporting director Christoph Freund and board member for sport, Max Eberl, who’s future is in jeopardy if he doesn’t have a strong transfer window this summer.
