Nashville Predators hire Vukie Mpofu as assistant general manager

The Nashville Predators have hired Vukie Mpofu as assistant general manager, the team announced on July 7.

Mpofu, 30, spent the last three seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins as director of hockey operations. Before that, he was manager of hockey operations with the Los Angeles Kings (2021-2023) and a team consultant for the Vegas Golden Knights (2020).

According to the Predators, Mpofu will work in “player acquisition strategy; professional and amateur scouting; contract negotiations; salary cap and CBA compliance; roster and personnel decisions; and several other key areas of responsibility.”

This is Chris MacFarland’s latest addition to the Predators front office. Previously, he added Rob Blake as executive vice president and Jamie Langenbrunner as special assistant to the general manager.
