Nasarawa judiciary begins annual vacation July 20, appoints two vacation judges

Judges of the Nasarawa State High Court, along with Kadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal and Judges of the Customary Court of Appeal, will commence their 2026 annual vacation on Monday, July 20.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Covering Director of Information and Protocol of the High Court of Justice, Agube Esther Ogidis.

According to the statement, the vacation will run until September 7, 2026, after which normal court proceedings are expected to resume.

To ensure uninterrupted access to justice during the vacation period, the judiciary has designated Justice Hafsat Sanda and Justice Ishaku Usman as vacation judges to handle urgent and time-sensitive matters.

Justice Sanda will sit at High Court VI, Lafia, while Justice Usman will preside over High Court II, Mararaba Gurku, throughout the vacation.

The statement also conveyed the goodwill of the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State and Chairman of the State Judicial Service Commission, Justice Aisha Mohammed Usman, who wished members of the judiciary a peaceful and rewarding annual vacation.
