‘Naridon attack act of terror’– Christian group condemns Southern Kaduna killings

The Christians in Politics (CIP) has called on President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani and security agencies to intensify their efforts to bring to justice the killers of about 30 people, mostly women and children, in Naridon village, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

CIP condemned in strong terms “the act of terror”, lamenting that what it described as the deliberate targeting of innocent men, women and children is evil, ungodly and a gross violation of the rights to life and freedom of worship guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The National Coordinator of CIP, Dr Shallangwa Hassana, in a statement issued on Monday, said, “The national body, received with grief, anger and utter dismay the report of a coordinated attack on the peaceful community of Naridon, Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on 27th July, 2026.”

He stated, “ln this wicked assault, innocent citizens, all Christians were gruesomely murdered in cold blood, three others sustained injuries, while houses and provision shops were set ablaze.”

Hassana called on the Federal and Kaduna State governments to immediately deploy adequate security personnel to Kamaru Ward and ensure the perpetrators are tracked down and prosecuted.

The group demanded immediate humanitarian intervention for the displaced, injured and bereaved families, urging security agencies to rise to their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property without bias.

“We call on all Nigerians to shun violence and embrace peace as we seek justice through lawful means.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the Church in Kauru, and the good people of Kaduna State. May God comfort you and may the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace,” the statement said.
