Myles Garrett describes differences between Rams and Browns training camps

Myles Garrett spent nine years with the Cleveland Browns, quickly becoming an integral part of the franchise as the former No. 1 overall pick. Now he’s embarking on a new journey in Los Angeles after being traded to the Rams in June.

Having seen many different regimes in Cleveland, Garrett is suddenly part of an established system under Sean McVay – one that has yielded two Super Bowl appearances and a world championship.

Garrett was asked this week to describe the differences between Rams and Browns training camps, and he immediately pointed the culture.

“I would just say it’s a team that has a culture that’s a little bit more set in stone with leaders all across the board and I think Cleveland has some leaders that are continuing to develop,” Garrett said. “Some great teammates that I had and some great young talent that they continue to draft or pick up. You see a lot of older veterans here who’ve had a lot of years here or a lot of years in the league and been able to learn things and develop who they are as a person, as a teammate, as a leader and they’ve helped instill a great culture here. I think that’s something that’s already ingrained and I can help to nurture, but it’ll take time.”

Garrett says the Rams have been about what he expected, having heard from other players who went from Los Angeles to Cleveland. He once again complimented the culture established by McVay, saying it’s “been a joy” for him to experience so far.

“I love the culture that they already have in place and many of the different players and coaches that I’ve been able to start building a relationship with,” he said. “It’s been a real joy and a pleasure. I want to help continue to build that.”
