Monaco’s Caio Henrique set to undergo medical ahead of Ajax move
Caio Henrique (28) is nearing an exit from AS Monaco. ESPN Netherlands (via AS MonacoMercato) understands that the Brazil international is expected to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Ajax this weekend.
Last season, Henrique was the starting left-back for Monaco. The defender suffered injury issues towards the end of the campaign and, despite featuring in Brazil squads in recent months, subsequently missed out on a call-up for the FIFA World Cup.
There is expected to be a change at the left-back position for Monaco this summer. Filipe Luis is set to be named manager and, concurrently, Nazinho is expected to arrive from Cercle Brugge. Kassoum Ouattara, the other left-back currently on the Principality club’s books, could also leave amid interest from Besiktas.
Henrique’s exit from Monaco now looks imminent. ESPN understands that he has reached an agreement on personal terms with Ajax. The deal will be worth €10m plus an extra €4m in bonuses. The Brazilian is expected to undergo his medical in Amsterdam this weekend.
