Minnesota Vikings make NFL history which hasn’t been done since 1934 after beating Miami Dolphins

The Minnesota Vikings are 4-0 after an excellent start to the NFL season, and their unique start has led to an interesting piece of NFL history.

There were big questions about the Minnesota Vikings going into the 2026-27 NFL season. The quarterback position has been discussed as a potential problem for months. And even though some of those fears have come true, it hasn’t stopped them from winning.

The Vikings beat the Miami Dolphins 15-10 on Sunday, moving to a 4-0 record. One of the most noticeable things about the victory was the fact that Minnesota did not score a single touchdown. All of their points came from field goals. This has put them in unique company in football history.

The Vikings have matched an NFL feat which hasn’t been achieved in nearly 100 years with their start. In 1922 and 1923, the Chicago Cardinals started their season 4-0 with multiple games where the team did not score any offensive touchdowns.

In their 9-3 win against the Chicago Bears, the Vikings only scored through field goals. It was the same story as mentioned above in their win against Miami. This has given them the distinction of joining the Cardinals as one of the only teams to manage this.

The other team to hit this mark was the 1934 Detroit Lions, meaning the Vikings have done something that hasn’t happened in 92 years in professional football. While this unique piece of history is quite fascinating, it points to a potential problem for Minnesota in terms of offensive production. Their start might not be quite as good as the record would suggest.
