Maryland offers buy-one, get-two-free tickets ahead of Illinois matchup

Maryland is pulling out all the stops to pack SECU Stadium ahead of Saturday’s matchup against Illinois, including a ticket promotion that gives fans two free tickets with the purchase of one.

The Terrapins announced the Halloween promotion Monday, giving fans the unique opportunity to buy three tickets for the price of one.

Thus, the orange and blue may have a tougher task in College Park than they originally planned.

The unusual promotion comes amid a disastrous season for Maryland, which sits at 2-5 overall and 0-4 in Big Ten play. The Terrapins recently fired head coach Mike Locksley following their 12th consecutive conference loss.

Maryland is also offering students the chance to win free tuition for the spring semester if they attend Saturday’s game and remain through the fourth quarter.

Maryland only averaged just over 40,000 fans in 2025, ranking near the bottom of the Big Ten in attendance.

With interim head coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim making his debut, Maryland is hoping discounted tickets and a tuition giveaway will help create a home-field advantage against the Illini.
