Manny wouldn’t have met his wife if he had quit secular music – Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has said his music director, Emmanuel Abiola-Jacobs, better known as Manny or MD, wouldn’t have met his wife if it wasn’t for his (Burna Boy’s) band, The Outsiders.

Speaking at Manny’s wedding at the weekend, Burna Boy hinted that the drummer wanted to quit secular music and return to the gospel music space at some point.

He joked that if he had quit, he would be in the church “clapping hands and praising the sky” and wouldn’t have be enjoying the “good life” he is living right now.

“It’s the little things that piss me. have you asked them how they met? You all are just eating and drinking.

“Manny, you said you wanted to dump music and go back to Jesus and Christianity? If you had quit music, would you and your wife have met? I have given myself thanks because this wedding would not have happened if you gave up music and went to the church clapping and praising the sky,” he said.
