Manchester United weigh up a January swoop for Serhou Guirassy

Already putting together their January preparations, Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

While United might have attempted to complete a real midfield overhaul during the summer as they welcomed the trio of Carlos Baleba, Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, fans around Old Trafford were disappointed to not see a new number nine come through the doors.

Although Dutch international Joshua Zirkzee might have eventually been forced to stay put in the red half of Manchester, Michael Carrick’s men are reportedly keen on adding attacking reinforcements when the transfer window reopens.

Now in his third consecutive campaign with German giants Borussia Dortmund, Guirassy has established himself as one of Europe’s most clinical marksmen.

Since completing a permanent switch to Signal Iduna Park back in the summer of 2024, the Guinea international has been heavily linked with a potential Premier League switch over the past year.

Alongside reported interest from both Chelsea and Tottenham, reigning Premier League champions Arsenal remain a long-term admirer.

Already registering four direct goal contributions in as many Bundesliga appearances this season (two goals, two assists), Guirassy has clinched BVB’s Golden Boot in each of his first two campaigns with Dortmund.

While the Dortmund hierarchy have made it clear that the 30-year-old remains an integral part of their plans and will not be bullied into a cut-price January exit, Guirassy has less than two years remaining on his current deal.

Manchester United are continuing to assess their attacking options ahead of January, with Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy among the players being closely monitored by the club’s scouting department, @TEAMtalk understands.
