Manchester United & Liverpool keeping tabs on Alejandro Balde

· · 2 min read

Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

While the reigning La Liga champions might be enjoying yet another sensational domestic romp since opening up the 2026/27 campaign, Balde has quickly become a forgotten man in Catalonia.

Free-falling down Hansi Flick’s pecking order and reportedly at the heart of a fallout with the former Bayern Munich boss last month, the 22-year-old is reportedly assessing his options ahead of the transfer window reopening.

Although the Spanish starlet might have made a brief 12-minute cameo appearance during Barcelona’s dominant 7-2 victory at home against Racing Santander on September 16th, Balde has not featured in any of their other seven outings across all competitions.

While the Spanish icons might reportedly value their academy graduate in the region of €40million, it appears that the seven-cap international has plenty of European heavyweights who are keeping close tabs on his situation in Catalonia.

TEAMtalk’s report suggests that both Manchester United and Liverpool hold a long-standing interest and are weighing up a potential swoop next year.

With Balde’s current deal at the Nou Camp set to expire in the summer of 2028, the Barca hierarchy could be tempted to cash in when the window reopens.

Alongside extended interest from England’s elite, TEAMtalk’s report also suggests that Italian giants Juventus are also a keen admirer and remain firmly in the mix.
