Man Utd ‘seriously’ considering offloading £52m Red with ideal replacement already lined up
Manchester United defender Leny Yoro risks losing his spot in the squad for next season, with the management already seeking a replacement.
In the summer of 2024, the Red Devils beat stern competition from Real Madrid to recruit the young Frenchman from LOSC Lille on a deal worth £52 million.
However, many would argue that Yoro hasn’t been able to meet the initial expectations, which raises questions about his long-term future at the club.

Last season, Ruben Amorim gave the 20-year-old a run in the starting lineup. However, the youngster has been a backup for Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez in Michael Carrick’s hierarchy.
Even Ayden Heaven may have surpassed him in the pecking order, while Matthijs de Ligt’s return would only reduce his playing time.
According to The Daily Briefing, there are ‘serious doubts’ about Yoro’s fate around Carrington, and a summer sale isn’t out of the question, especially if the player fails to make the required step-up in quality between now and the end of the season.
The good news for the Lille youth product is that he’s still young enough to be considered a top prospect, and he has suitors around Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
Yoro recently earned his maiden France call-up following Ibrahima Konate’s injury, and he remains tied to United with a contract valid until June 2029.

While Yoro could be heading out the door, The Daily Briefing links the Frenchman’s exit to Man Utd’s emerging interest in Jacobo Ramon.
The 21-year-old is an excellent ball-playing centre-back who graduated from Real Madrid’s academy and is now thriving as part of Cesc Fabregas’ high-flying Como.
The Spaniard has been attracting interest from the European elite since last summer, and United have seemingly joined the fray.
Como only spent €2.5 million to sign the towering defender from Los Merengues in the summer of 2025. So if they choose to sell him, they’ll be able to register an enormous profit, as Transfermarkt currently value the youngster at €45 million (or £38m).
MUFC are expected to bolster their backline in 2027, starting with a new left-back. Nevertheless, all observers agree that a centre-back should be a priority as well.
