Man United: Rooney reveals Ferguson's lesson to Ronaldo Carrick must pass to Fernandes

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has told head coach Michael Carrick to pass on to captain Bruno Fernandes a lesson SirAlex Ferguson once gave Cristiano Ronaldo as the Red Devils seek to restore their standards.

The former England international spoke after Fernandes recently criticised Carrick over his tactics following Man United’s Champions League 4-1 loss to Como.

Rooney said via The United Stand, “Fernandes might need the manager to tell him to go on a little holiday because he had a long season and then a long World Cup.

“I remember Alex Ferguson did that with Cristiano Ronaldo. At random, Ronaldo would go and have a week off, and we would all be standing around wondering why. But he would be recharging his batteries, I think Bruno needs that,” he said.

This is coming ahead of Man United’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday.
