Man killed, another injured during youth clash in Jigawa

A 20-year-old man, Umar Abdullahi, has died following a fight among some youths at Rahamanu Village, Aujara District, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

ASC. Badruddeen Tijjani, Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, confirmed the incident in a statement issued to DAILY POST.

He said the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

According to the NSCDC, its Aujara Divisional Office received a distress call from a member of the Fulani community reporting the fight, prompting personnel to mobilise to the area.

Two persons were found seriously injured and taken to the Primary Health Centre, Aujara, for medical attention.

The NSCDC identified the deceased as Umar Abdullahi, 20, of Rahamanu Fulani settlement, who reportedly died while receiving treatment.

The second victim, 19-year-old Sule Adamu, also of the same settlement, is responding to treatment at the health facility.

Meanwhile, two suspects have been arrested by police personnel attached to Aujara Division in connection with the incident.

The NSCDC said preliminary investigation has commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the fight and identify all those involved.
