Man City dithering opens door to £60m forward deal as Fabrizio Romano confirms exit plan

Liverpool are still searching for a new winger.

Reports continue to swirl around Bradley Barcola, the Paris Saint-Germain forward valued at around £145m.

If Richard Hughes declines to pay that much for the wantaway attacker then we could see Liverpool move on to other targets.

One issue with Barcola is that he is not an exact stylistic match for Mohamed Salah.

The 34-year-old left Anfield at the end of June having reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early.

Savinho is more similar to Salah than Barcola

Barcola is right-footed and plays even better on the left than he does on the right side of the attack. Ideally of course the France international would be onboarded to provide a top-quality attacking option in either position.

However Andoni Iraola lacks that left-footed, right-wing profile that Salah provided over the years at Anfield.

One solution that could come under consideration is signing Savinho from Manchester City. The 22-year-old has told the Etihad club that he wants to quit this summer amid a chase for more first-team football.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Savinho exit plan

The Brazilian was neglected by Pep Guardiola during his time in charge of the Cityzens and has made it known through Fabrizio Romano that he’s had enough. Previous reports have linked Liverpool with a move for the wide forward.

“Savinho informs Manchester City about his desire to leave this summer,” the Italian transfer supremo writes on X.

“Savio wants to play more and develop in his career, MCFC have been informed by the winger. All in Man City hands now.”

Romano also claims that the former Girona winger is at the top of Tottenham’s shopping list.

“Tottenham have Savinho on top of their list as revealed since May,” he writes.

Spurs want a quick answer on Savinho, door could open to Liverpool

And a report in TEAMtalk claims that Roberto De Zerbi’s side have given City until the WEEKEND to conclude talks. Otherwise they will move on to other targets with Cody Gakpo mentioned as being of interest to the North London side.

Adding Savinho might seem like a strange move in the eyes of Liverpool fans but there is definitely a player in there should the right manager come along.

Savinho is valued at £60m per the TEAMtalk report and is under contract with Enzo Maresca’s side until 2031.
