Maddie O'Brien, Nathan Miller are Oct. 5-11 Akron-Area Athletes of Week

Athletes from Stow and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy high schools won the voting for the Akron-Area High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 5-11.

Maddie O’Brien is the girls winner and Nathan Miller wins for the boys. O’Brien, who competes in cross country for Stow, received 56.4% of the votes cast. Miller, who plays soccer for CVCA, received 45.7% of the votes cast.

A total 31,644 votes were cast overall. Look for more on each athlete below.

Won the Stow Bulldog Invitational in a time of 18:16.1.

Scored two goals in CVCA’s 8-0 win over Cleveland Benedictine.
