Lyon’s move for Milan’s Youssouf Fofana collapses due to Malick Fofana’s unresolved future

Lyon’s potential loan move for Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana (27) has collapsed due to the unresolved future of Malick Fofana (21), according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. With the Belgian international midfielder’s future still in the balance, OL have had to pull out of the deal to sign the French international midfielder due to being unable to register him if the 21-year-old isn’t sold.

The Lyon attacker is currently at the epicentre of a transfer tussle. Both Sunderland and Crystal Palace are pushing to sign the wide forward. However, with less than four hours remaining of the transfer window, he is yet to make a decision regarding his final destination. As things stand, he will undertake his medical in the Rhône city.

With Lyon awaiting the Belgian forward’s decision, the Ligue 1 club will be hoping for a quick resolution. OL have already lined up their replacement for him, agreeing to sign Keito Nakamura (26) from Reims.
