Olivia Miles picked up the first technical foul of her WNBA career on Monday night.
The Minnesota Lynx are thrilled with it.
“That’s who she is, she loves basketball, super competitive, so I think you feel the energy, we feel the energy, we love it,” guard Courtney Williams said the Lynx thrashed the Portland Fire in Minneapolis.

Miles stood out again in the Lynx’s 107-74 win over the Fire. She has scored at least 10 points on 55 percent shooting or better in six consecutive games, making her the second guard in WNBA history with a streak that long.
She also stared down and talked some trash to the Fire’s Sarah Ashlee Barker after a steal and a layup, which warranted her first tech at the 7:43 mark of the third quarter — and the Lynx already up by 24 points.

But in another display of her competitive fire, Miles was undeterred by the tech and told Barker and the Fire to “get out of here” just over a minute later, following another steal-layup combo.

Williams has long been recognized as the Lynx’s best trash-talker, but she thinks Miles “low-key” might be coming for her crown.
